Tuesday Design class, Lily.
♥ Puzzle.
Draw the chosen pattern on the tracing paper and complete it as Lily taught. Then, paste a mounting board on a drawing block paper. Afterward, draw a A5 size puzzle in whatever shape and how many piece you like. Trace the pattern which you have drew on the tracing paper onto the puzzle. It might be not connected or connected. All is depends on yourself as long as there is some empty background for the tea bag painting.2 pieces of the puzzle must be in white/black and 2 colors(play with tone also). Others, just use multiple colors that you like. After everything is finished, cut it the puzzle out and paste on a A4 mounting board.
♥ Research for final work.
We have to do a booklet as our final work for design class. The categories for the booklet are:
* Futuristic
* Antique
* Zen
* Retro
* Childlike
* Luxury
* Classical
Based on the category you have choose, search for the mood. Mood included colors and designs.
You can Google " moleskine " for more references.
The rules for the booklet :
* It can be in case binding or string binding.
* Minimum size of the booklet is 18cmx18cm.
* Try to use more different papers with different texture.
* Minimum pages for the booklet is 6(included front and back cover).
* The theme of the booklet is depending on yourself also. You can do whatever you like.
* The way you bring out the booklet can be in hand-drawing or pop-up.
This final work project, every progress of it only will be done in the class room.
Do your best in research and try to gather the information as much as you can.

Monday Drawing class, Ze Lin.
Today is a tiring shading day as well. As i know, next lesson will be a lecturing class. Ze Lin will give some talks and home assignment next week. Second home assignment for drawing class.

Friday Finished Art class, Reis.
♥ Packaging final work and presentation.
Finally, we have to proceed our work to the final stage. Now, make the packaging into the final work and prepare a speech of 5 minutes for the packaging. The speech has to include the concept, the usefulness and others.
Next week, the finished art class has been canceled due to the exploration week. So, we have 2 weeks to prepare for the packaging final work.
The sewing thread you have bought today please do bring it for the next lesson. It will be used in the next lesson as Reis told me.

♥ Outline for the speech.
We have to prepare the outline for our speech in point form. As i got the information from Hsiao Shen, the outline have to be in computer typing. Pass up in the next lesson.
♥ References for group assignment.
We have to find references for the topic we had choose from at least 3 sources. One of the sources must come from books or newspapers. The other two can search from internet. We have to list the sources when let Eddy check through.
Due to the exploration week, the language class of next week canceled.

Tuesday Design class, Lily.
♥ Collage design
First of all, we have to take a mounting board and stick behind an A3 art block paper. Then, draw simple outline of a interior design on the paper. You can draw a big interior design or combination of few different interior designs. After that, use at least 15 materials to paste on it. Painting the drawing is something optional. But the material must be at least 15 kinds. And, the deadline is next week.
Things to bring next week are
* A natural or food material(something that is able to be cut and study about). As examples, pineapple, orange, durian, blablabla...
* A tea or coffee bag.
* A cutter or knife and some newspaper. We will cut and study about the material we brought along.
The design on 7th of July has been canceled and the replacement is in next week-the exploration week. The time of the class is as usual, 10am-1pm on Tuesday at class A1.
Tuesday History class, Stephen.

Some of our class members made their first debut for the presentation of Pengajian Malaysia today! *clap hands* I think our class members did quite well huh.. ( I am not saying myself larh. I am talking about Mr Siew's group as well. Hehe)
So, there's no homework for today Pengajian Malaysia (Lecturer: Cik Fadzilah). Congratulations to those who scored with flying colours in the Pengajian Malaysia quiz. Besides that, congrats to Chee Han and 23 who won artline pens from me today! ^^ By the way, Cik Fadzilah also said, for those who score an A (>85%) for Pengajian Malaysia, she will treat us anything that we want (5 Star restaurant, trip to anywhere in Malaysia,....) Good bribe huh..
Good luck for those who are going to present next week!

Harry Donovan (Jason Patric) is a talented and enterprising painter who takes in large amounts of cash for his expert forgeries of old masters he produces for clients. Keeping a low profile he is disconnected with his own artistic capabilities and his drive to produce the fake work of old masters is in part an ignoring of his own inner purpose. His father (Rod Steiger), from the Ash Can school is aging and castigates Harry for not following his own artistic merits to follow through on his plan to have his own show with a respectable gallery. Harry meets up with a group of gallery owners lead by Alastair (Thomas Lockyer) who is seeking an old master to sell for a high price. With Turley (Ian Richardson), and Iain (Simon Chandler) to raise the funding they go to Harry and offer him $500,000 for a forgery of a Rembrandt. During his research for a lost master Harry discovers a Rembrandt from 350 years ago when it was being transported from Rotterdam to Spain and begins recreating in specific detail the lost painting down to using materials that have been out of use for centuries. During his activities in Paris, Harry meets a young and endearing woman Prof. Marieke van den Broeck (Irene Jacob) who initially introduces herself as a student but in fact is a Rembrandt authority. She and Harry are taken with each other and sleep together before Harry leaves for Amsterdam to fabricate his masterpiece. After completing the canvas Harry brings it to Spain for Alastair and his retinue but the art dealers decline to pay Harry the money until they have established from art experts that the painting is real. When Alastair decides to sell the painting at auction Harry disagrees and takes the painting, on the way kidnapping Marieke who has come to authenticate the canvas. As a pursuit ensues across the French, and English borders Harry and Marieke handcuffed together learn many things about each other which ultimately empower them to make the deal gone bad good for all involved.

Hey guys. Since Chee Han seemed to be unavailable tonight, so JJ will be updating about our homework for today!!
Tuesday - Design 1 (Lily)
Materials needed:
- A3 mounting board
- A3 glossy art card
-A3 art block
Things to do:
Step 1:Create 3 patterns designs and 1 stroke design(approved by Lily)
P/S : There are 3 different methods for patterns.
1. Black and White tone,
2. Toning with 2 colours (any colour)
3. Mulitple colours with tone (at least 3 colours)
Step 2:Cut 4 shapes from your glossy art card
Step 3:Make sure the patterns that you want to stick behind the shape must be bigger than the shape that you cut. (Same concept with the Finished Art's Artwork Mounting and Overlay)
Step 4:Stick your mounting board behind the the glossy art card. You can use double sided tape. ^^
Step 5: Remember to bring your beautiful artwork next week. XD

The measurement of the frame can refer to the picture. For the boxes inside, it is 3cm x 3cm per box. The distance between each box is 0.5cm.

Next week, the movie session is related to the Baroque period artist - Rembrandt. We better do some research on this so that we can understand the movie faster and easier.

Friday Finished art class, Reis.
♥ Research for packaging project.
Select which category of packaging you want to do and then get at least 5 plans for the packaging. Those plans can be in either hand-drawing or photocopies. Please do the research as well as you can. Remember to bring every reference you have for Reis to check. Or else, your professional practice will be deducted.
We can buy the lighter fluid that needed for next week at Vision Art. Two people can share a bottle/can. So, find your partner and get 1 together.

Thursday Pengajian class, Fadzillah.
Next week, we've to face the quiz. The quiz contained 10 objective questions and 5 subjective questions. The note for the quiz is already given to monitor. Monitor will photostat and distribute to us next Monday, I think.
We also have to do presentation for project 2 the week after that quiz. For project 2, we have to introduce anybody that opposes the invaders before the independence of Tanah Melayu. There gonna be 2 groups to present each week. The presentation way is depends on you all and the time given is 15 minutes. Any question, you all can ask me personally.
Although the deadline for project 1 is still far from now, we also should done everything earlier.

Once again, I want to state that mid-term evaluation gonna be held on 17th of June(for E1 students). E1 students please be well-prepared. The famous artist assignment have to fulfill the requirements below :
*3 parts for artline pen
*2 parts contrast
*2 parts matching colors
*2 parts unmatching colors
*2 parts light and dark
*2 parts tone (at least 15 steps)
*2 parts different color media
*2 parts special media
But for this week, we just have to do until light and dark. Other will be left for next week.
Beside those works, we also have to bring the drawing(drawing of the first class and 10 famous artist heads) before this to pass up. Lily will compare everything for mark giving.
Anyone that have to redo the color assignment please do it well to prevent another redo. We also should pass up every assignment on time.

There isn't any assignment for drawing class and that is a good thing. Next week, we will start to draw things we can find in our daily life. We have to construct the shape ourselves this time. So, you all can practice by drawing anything in your room or house.
